This filter has 1" Bsp connections and is designed to fit into the mains water supply just after the main stop cock supplying the house, thus filtering the entire supply of water to your home. There are several reasons why you may need to this, for example:

-Discolouration of your local water supply

-Dissolved metals which cause staining on bathroom and kitchen furniture

Removing chlorine and solvents from bath and shower water has been shown to be of benefit to people who suffer with skin conditions, disorders and allergies

Hard water areas which cause a build up scale on plumbing and boiler components

You will need to select a suitable cartridge to accompany your whole house filter - the available cartridges are;

Activated carbon element - removes unpleasant tastes and odours and free chlorine, improves the overall quality of your drinking water and benefits people who suffer with skin conditions, disorders and allergies

Sediment element - for use in areas where cloudiness or sediment debris is a problem

Water softening element - for use in areas where the water is particularly hard. This insert helps prevent build up of scale in plumbing and boiler components

Iron removal element - this element absorbs dissolved iron from water supplies which cause brown staining on bathroom and kitchen suites

Some plumbing skills are required to fit this unit as it involves pipe cutting and reconnection, though all fittings necessary to connect this unit to 15mm copper pipe and full, easy to follow instructions are included, so any competent DIY person (or of course qualified plumber) should be able to fit this unit unaided.

This unit is approximately 24" tall with a diameter of 6" though shorter units are available if needed. We recommend the water filter cartridge be changed every 6 months
