This ultra fine carbon filter is the standard size of 10" long and is rated at 0.5 micron. The flow rate through this cartridge is slower than the coarser 5 micron and this filter is best used with a 1 or 5 micron sediment filter upstream to act as a prefilter.

In addition to the contaminants removed by the 5 micron carbons (sediment, bad taste and odours, chlorine, organic chemical and herbicides and pesticides), this filter also removes heavy metals such as lead and aluminium and food poisoning organisms like cryptosporidium cysts.
